About Us

Welcome to Dayı Ahmet Ağa Mansion, where the centuries-old stories embedded in Gaziantep’s stone walls meet the city’s world-famous regional culinary delights.

We do more than simply run a restaurant or boutique hotel; we keep alive the legacy of Dayı Ahmet Ağa—a hero of the Gaziantep defense, an education advocate, and an “Anatolian Intellectual.”

Our Roots: More Than Just a Mansion

This mansion takes its name from Ahmet Hurşit Efendi—known as Dayı Ahmet Ağa—one of the most distinguished figures among Gaziantep’s elite. He is a name etched in the city’s memory not only for his presence but also for his character, elegance, and patriotism.

In its time, this place was not merely a home; it served as a gathering place for learning, culture, and conversation. This mansion, where the sounds of the piano and kanun once filled the air, where matters of the homeland were discussed, and where elegance and refinement reigned, today welcomes you, its valued guests, with the same spirit.

The Spirit of the National Struggle and the Legacy of Philanthropy

Dayı Ahmet Ağa, despite his age and ill health, rushed to the front during the most difficult days of the Defense of Antep and fought heroically on the Tabakhane Front. “I carry a weapon so that the young may take a lesson from my example,” he said—and the sacred memory of that great spirit lives on within these walls we have restored today.

This man of great compassion—who sheltered orphaned children during the war years, established schools in villages, and spent his fortune not on personal grandeur but on the reconstruction of the nation—embodied a spirit of hospitality that remains the foundational philosophy of our establishment.

At Dayı Ahmet Ağa Mansion, where the elegance of the past meets the flavors of today, you are invited to embark on a journey through history. Our story is the story of these lands. Welcome...
